I am currently a senior working towards my bachelor of arts at the University of Colorado at Boulder in both Anthropology and Geography. I will graduate in May 2006. If and when I have any spare time, I enjoy photography, reading, and sailing. Sailing has been a bit difficult since I moved to Colorado, as there are very few large lakes, but my husband and I plan to relocate after graduation to attend graduate school (preferably on a coast). Additionally, we love to travel, but due to school and work conflicts, we don't travel as much as we would like to. We are hoping to visit his family in England this summer and eventually travel to Russia, China and Thailand. After I graduate this May, I plan to go onto graduate school in historic preservation. I love antique maps and illustrations, it fascinates me how people thought of the world 100 or even 1000 years ago, how their cultures and personal beliefs influenced their perspective of the world around them. History can teach us what happened and where, maps can tell us what they believed to be true. There are maps filled with monsters, without continents, and where the world is flat. If we just consulted textbooks, a large part of history would be left out. "My aim is to put
down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way."
