I'm a double major in Music Performance and Geography at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I'm a senior and plan to graduate in May 2012. I hail from Manhattan, Kansas and love to travel. Creating maps and playing the oboe are my two greatest passions.

Brooke Marston is a member of the CU Boulder Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Opera and studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder with Peter Cooper, principal oboist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Marston began her oboe studies in Oklahoma as a student of Celeste Johnson before moving to Kansas where she studied with Margaret Marco. Ms. Marston held the position of co-principal oboist of the Topeka Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2005 until 2008 and was awarded the Elna Friedstrom Award by the Topeka Symphony League. Ms. Marston has participated in master classes with oboists Mark Ostoich, Alek Klein, William Bennet, Nancy Ambrose King, Paige Morgan, Eric Ohlsson, and Allan Vogel. A recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Award, Ms. Marston received Honorable Mention at the 19th Annual Youth Artist Competition, Midwest Double Reed Society at Wichita State University in 2006. In both 2007 and 2008, Ms. Marston served as principal oboist of the Kansas Music Educator's Association All-State Band, as well as principal oboist of the KU Prairie Wind Festival, Kansas Lions Band, and Kansas State University Concert Band Clinics XIII, XIV, and XV. Ms. Marston attended the Bay View Music Festival in 2009 and the Brevard Music Center in 2011.
