Teresa in Wild Basin, Rocky Mountain National Park

Welcome!

I am a PhD candidate in the Biogeography Lab of Geography Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. I study landscape disturbances in Colorado's forest. I am specifically interested in fire and insect outbreak disturbances and the influence of changing climates on these disturbances. I have also started acquiring my secondary teaching license for high school science through the innovative CU Teach program for science and mathematics.

I am a mother of two girls, aged 9 and 11 years old. They are fun and energetic and keep me more than busy.

I enjoy numerous outdoor activities, including road biking, trail running, and skiing.I am enthusiastic about spending time in the Rocky Mountains. While I travel throughout the state, I am particularly fond of our local Rocky Mountain National Park. This summer I was fortunate enough to bike trail ridge road under a splitter blue sky. However, Long's peak is still on my list of peaks to climb. I have been turned down from summitting twice due to the stormy weather.
