Tim Oakes will serve a four-year appointment as Director of the Center for Asian Studies beginning July, 2012. CAS was founded in 1998, and brings together faculty, students, and community members to encourage and support scholarship about Asia across disciplinary and regional boundaries. The Center oversees the Asian Studies curriculum, which is taught by over 100 affiliated faculty members in 21 departments and 6 professional schools at CU, offering over 300 courses fully or partially devoted to Asia.
