Artist Statement

My work in photography and media throughout the last twenty years has been as an ‘animateur socio-culturel’ or, better still, ‘el coyote’: the trickster. Roaming between cultures with laughter, indignation, and defiance. Crossing boarders in an effort to expand and embrace our humanity. The focus and motivation of the work has been the exploration of identity and reexamination of gender roles, hybrid culture, stereotyping, and racism. I exhibit in both community centers and fine art fallers and infiltrate the mass media via broadcast and print media.
