Born 1952, Denver, Co, Media Artist. B.A. Communications, University of Colorado, with additional studies at Pomona College and Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico. Photographer with Disney world 1976-80. Principal in Chispa Productions, one of the first independent Chicano film production companies 1979-82. Producer/director for the PBS affiliate KBDI-TV 1983-1988, where he produced some of the station’s first national award-winning documentaries. Associate Director for the Colorado Council on the Arts 1987-2000 with specialization in Literature, Visual, Performing, Folk and Media Arts as well as support for individual artists. Currently serves as Media Arts/Literacy Specialist for the Denver Public Schools and Director of the XicnIndie Film Fest for El Centro Su Teatro in Denver. CEO and founder of impossible artz, providing media arts production, publishing, distribution, promotion, and marketing. His media art including: films, videos and photography have been distributed throughout the U.S., Mexico, Latin America and Europe since 1979. Regularly exhibits photography and other published materials in galleries and art museums across the U.S. Married since 1975 to artist/educator, Maria (Maruca) G. Salazar, two cildren; son, Gabriel N. Salazar born 1978 and daughter, Maruca R. Salazar born 1983.
