Four Year Guarantee

All Four Year Guarantee Program (FYGP) students must register with the Fine Arts Office during the semester of their declared major as listed below. Please see a Fine Arts advisor to discuss eligibility and receive the correct forms.

At the time of Fall and Spring course registration, all FYGP students must immediately report to the Fine Arts Department any course which they have been wait listed or denied admission.

Open Option students are restricted to taking only CORE classes prior to entry into the Fine Arts Department. Normal course load of 15 hours of credit per semester is required.

Adequate progress within the FYGP is defined as:

B.A. Studio Arts:

By the end of the third semester, completion of two Introduction to Art (6 credits) and two lower division art history courses (6 credits).

By the end of the sixth semester, completion of all lower division requirements (15 credits). Completion of credits in the major, not to exceed more than 45 credits at the time of graduation.

All BASA majors must be declared no later than the second semester. Major Declaration forms are available in the Fine Arts Department office. See CU Plus for designated add/change major times.

B.F.A. Studio Arts:

Students wishing to apply to the BFA must have completed 30 hours of B.A.S.A and present a portfolio of original work for admission to the program.

By the end of the third semester, completion of all lower division studio (9 credits) lower division art history (6 credits) and three classes (9 credits) of lower division studio requirements.

By the end of the sixth semester, completion of up to 48 upper and lower division credits as defined by the major. Completion of no more than 66 credits at the time of graduation.

Students will get BFAS applications in the main Fine Arts office.

B.A. Art History:

By the end of the third semester, completion of two Introduction to Art (6 credits), lower division art history (6 credits) and 6 hours of upper division Art History.

By the end of the sixth semester, completion of up to 33 credits in the major and Fine Arts electives. Completion of no more than 45 credits at the time of graduation including the BAAH seminar class.

All BAAH majors must be declared no later than the second semester. Major Declaration forms are available in the Fine Arts Office.
