Painting & Drawing

The diverse faculty of the Drawing & Painting department are accomplished, actively exhibiting artists who encourage graduate students to develop their own aesthetic views. High regard is held for student ideas and every effort is made to help discover and capture these ideas in visual form. This area focuses on diversity, contemporary art and knowledge needed to train the artist. New opportunities include the use of integrated media and the newest computer products available to further broaden an already diverse curriculum.

Printmaking

The graduate program in Printmaking emphasizes exploration in both the traditional printmaking techniques of intaglio/relief, lithography, and papermaking, and all the new materials and processes currently available. The printmaking faculty encourages the development of concepts and individual directions through an interdisciplinary approach. Students gain technical skills in the medium to then fulfill their artistic visions through the most appropriate processes, such as monoprints, mixed media, book forms, or full color editions. The studios are equipped for all processes related to each medium.
