Bachelor's-Accelerated Master's (BAM)

Students admitted to a bachelor's-accelerated master's (BAM) degree program on or after July 1, 2019 will switch to graduate student status upon completion of the undergraduate requirements. Undergraduate and graduate students are considered for different types and/or amounts of financial aid, so your award will be adjusted when your student status changes.

Aid for Graduate Students

Graduate students are primarily offered financial aid in the form of Federal Unsubsidized Loans or Federal Graduate PLUS Loans. As a graduate student, you must enroll at least half time (3+ credit hours) to be eligible to receive federal loans. Additional funding may be available through specific graduate departments.

Concurrent Bachelor's/Master's (BA/MA)

Students enrolled in a concurrent bachelor's and master's degree program prior to July 1, 2019 will be automatically switched to a "graduate student" status once they have completed 130 credit hours (or 145 credit hours for a student in the College of Engineering and Applied Science). Undergraduate and graduate students are considered for different types and/or amounts of financial aid, so your award will be adjusted when your student status changes.

The 130 credit hours includes:

  • Completed credit hours
  • Incomplete credit hours
  • In-progress credit hours
  • Transfer units (including AP credit)

In the concurrent degree program, your financial aid eligibility will change as soon as you complete 130 credit hours (or 145 credit hours for a student in the College of Engineering and Applied Science). View aid for graduate students.
