Pat O’Rourke, executive vice chancellor and chief operating officer, announced a number of departmental changes within CU Boulder’s Strategic Resources and Support division to better enhance support for the university's educational and research mission. As a part of these changes, the Office of Data Analytics (ODA) will leave Finance and Business Strategy and be integrated into the Office of Information Technology (OIT).

ODA's move to OIT recognizes data as a campus-wide asset that is critical to decision-making at all levels of the university. It creates a number of benefits, including, among others, more closely aligning data analytics and data engineering and providing our campus community with a unified point for accessing data and getting their data and analytic needs met. It also accelerates gains regarding automation, transparency and governance of data.

Supervisory changes related to this shift will become effective December 1, 2023. ODA's leader, Jess Keating, will report to vice chancellor for information technology and chief information officer Marin Stanek. Keating will lead a data and analytics division of OIT as the assistant vice chancellor for data and analytics. OIT will communicate with campus stakeholders about any shifts that may occur in processes for accessing data and having other data-related needs met.
