Football kick off time has been set for 5:00 PM at Folsom Field.
Name badges, tickets, program information, and assistance are available from the CU Parents Association Board of Directors. Enjoy a cup of coffee and note any schedule changes. Note: If registration closes before you have a chance to pick up your football tickets, retrieve them at the will call booth on the south side of the stadium. AT TODAY'S FOOTBALL GAME, stations will be set up by the Student Athletic Advisory Council, which has partnered with Denver's Channel 7, to collect gently used coats to be cleaned and re-distributed to those in need. PLEASE BRING ANY OF YOUR GENTLY USED COATS TO SUPPORT THIS WORTH CAUSE.
Presentations and Additional Activities, covered by registration fee
Meet your tour guide (look for an appropriate sign) on the UMC south terrace 15 minutes before the published presentation time. All presentations are subject to change.
- University Forum (9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m., Grusin Music Hall, located in the Imig Music Building). Chancellor Peterson will speak on the state of the university, followed by a question and answer session with university vice chancellors, deans, directors, and student leaders.
- New Discoveries with the Hubble Space Telescope (10:00–11:00 a.m., Fiske Planetarium). Michael Shull of the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences will discuss exciting discoveries from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, including planets, stars, galaxies, black holes, and cosmology. NASA hopes to visit Hubble in August 2008 with the Space Shuttle to install a powerful instrument built in part by CU astronomers. The Cosmic Origins Spectrograph may help to revolutionize our understanding of the formation of galaxies, quasars, and the earliest stars some 12–13 billion years ago.
- Recreation Center: Conditioning Classes. Everyone is welcome to attend these fun cardiovascular classes. Check the schedule during Family Weekend registration in Room 235. Wear exercise clothing and athletic shoes.
- Brunch 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. SOLD OUT (subject to change based on game time), Glenn Miller Ballroom, UMC, $15 per person. Join the CU Marching Band, cheerleaders, and “Chip” (CU’s mascot) for a sumptuous brunch and pep rally in the Glenn Miller Ballroom and outside on the terrace.
- Buffalo Round-Up (Two and a half (2.5) hours prior to kick-off, Duane Physics Lawn). CU fans form a “tunnel” and greet their Buffs as they walk from their buses to the stadium. The Buffalo Round-Up occurs on the lawn on the east side of the Duane Physics Building, south of the stadium. This is a great opportunity to join the CU Marching Band in demonstrating your support of your CU Buffs!
- Kosher Tailgating in Hillel Sukkah (2 hours before Kickoff, Hillel Sukkah, 2795 Colorado Ave) Bring your Jewish school spirit to the game;come to CU's only Kosher Tailgating with some great traditional Kosher tailgating food (lox or cold cuts). We will be tailgating in the building and at our Sukkah so feel free to drop in at any point. If you would like to pre-pay and reserve a parking spot email adam@hillelcolorado.org. GO BUFFS!
- CU vs. Kansas State Football Game Folsom Stadium, $40 per person. Check CUBuffs.com for availability. Cheer the CU Buffs to a Big 12 victory at Folsom Field. Be sure to show your spirit and support for the Buffs by wearing your “CU Gear,” preferably your gold set! Game time may not be determined until the week prior to the game, so please be flexible.
- CU vs. Iowa State Volleyball Game in Coors Event Center, Free with your Kansas State Football game ticket stub. Come out and cheer the lady Buffs Volleyball team to victory. Times have not yet been announced, so be sure to check back here regularly or go online to CUBuffs.com for more information.
