Degree Approval Process

Regent Policy 4-J. Interim Policy and Procedures for Approving New Degree Proposals: http://www.cu.edu/regents/Policies/Policy4J.htm

Regent policy says that in order to initiate a new degree program, the degree program must be recognized through the academic strategic plan of the unit and/or the college/school and the proposed degree program must appear in the annual academic planning report that is sent to the Board of Regents and the CCHE. This report is managed out of the Office of the Provost by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Budget and Planning (William.Kaempfer@colorado.edu). System contact persons are Vice President for Academic Affairs (Michel.Dahlin@cu.edu), Assistant to the AVP (Linda.Starkey@cu.edu). Campus contact persons are Associate Vice Chancellor for Graduate Education (John.Stevenson@colorado.edu) and Assistant to the Provost (Bernadette.Langbein@colorado.edu).
