Office Equipment Rentals to Cease Operation

After over 50 years of operation, the Office Equipment Rental unit is "closing its doors" as of January 1, 2008. The original equipment pool was established to serve the Medical Center in Denver as well as the other three campuses of the University. The intent of the pool was not to provide all office equipment but merely those items of general and wide use. At one point, during fiscal year 1973-74, over 2,700 pieces of equipment were being rented across the university system. As of July 25, 2007 that number has shrunk to 191. This dwindling demand for traditional office equipment (typewriters, calculators, and dictation equipment) means the end of the economic viablity of this service.

• The last monthly billing will be in December of 2007
• All equipment currently being rented will be transferred to renting departments with no additional charges.
• New rental requests limited to stock on hand
• No new rental requests will be processed after August 30, 2007
• Repair requests will be processed through December 31, 2007
