Public Auctions
The University of Colorado at Boulder holds periodic Surplus Property Auctions to the public. They are held typically on Saturdays. Registration begins at 8:00 am with bidding to start at 9:00 AM.
We do not have the next Auction Date available.
All auctions are held at 3300 Walnut Street in Boulder.
University of Colorado Departments and affiliated State Agencies are strongly encouraged to examine the web-site property listing to ensure that needed items are acquired prior to the beginning of the sale to the general public.
University departments may contact Property Services at anytime with regards to acquisition of surplus property, and are not restricted to the public preview/auction times. In order for us to facilitate your requests, please contact Property Services with information on items your department needs prior to traveling to the Distribution Center.
Please note that a moratorium on the processing of Departmental Equipment and Furniture Disposal Requests will be placed in effect the week before the auction. We will resume processing requests received during this period upon completion of the auction and related cleanup processes. Departments requesting pick-up of surplus properties during this period will experience some delays; please plan accordingly.
Items to be sold at auction will be made available for preview by the general public from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Friday before the auction, and again from 8:00 am to 9:00 am the day of the auction.
Registration begins at 8:00 am with bidding to start at 9:00 AM .
Purchasers are responsible for the physical removal of all acquisitions on the day of the auction. All items purchased must be removed from the premises by purchaser the day of auction. Items cannot be held over for pick-up without making special arrangements with Property Services Operations staff so please come prepared to remove all of your purchases. Individuals abandoning purchased property will be subject to ban from future sales.
We do not provide access to dumpster or trash roll-offs for the disposal of unwanted personal items. The legal and proper disposal of any purchased item is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
The University of Colorado strongly encourages and supports the appropriate disposal of unwanted/unusable electronic items and will, upon request, provide information on known recycling/reclamation companies and institutions.
Currently, employees of the State of Colorado as well as Elected Officials are prohibited from directly bidding on, or paying for items sold to the public. If you have questions regarding this please contact Jack Brubaker at the e-mail address listed below.
Please note that all item descriptions are provided by University of Colorado departments and as such Property Services is unable to guarantee verification of each departmental description. Additionally, some items listed may not be available at time of auction due to departmental retention, timing, logistical, environmental or other reasons. The University of Colorado and its affiliates, State of Colorado Departments or affiliated Agencies retain first right of acquisition for any surplus item listed by the University of Colorado. These agencies may request listed items at anytime prior to the items being brought up for bid. Said items will be removed from the pool of available sale items.
Property Services updates the web listing daily and notice will be given by the auctioneer for any item(s) of significant "special" interest that have been removed from the listing. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Direct any questions about the auction or property disposal to Jack Brubaker via email or by telephone at 303-492-6524.
