Benefits: As the campus master plan states, the knowledge and concepts acquired in the classroom are challenged and shaped by experiences and opportunities outside of the classroom. Housing opportunities at CU-Boulder are intended to create a living-learning environment, helping students gain skills in problem solving and critical thinking. Facilities, programs and partnerships of faculty, staff and students need to be committed to supporting this living-learning environment. Because of this, the 500 bed residential facilities contemplated for Williams Village will have campus wide implications. It will allow the further development of the residential academic program, while also allowing a greater number of students to affordably live in close proximity to campus, which is a benefit to all academic programs on campus.
