Benefits: The University of Colorado's Institute of Behavioral Science (IBS) is one of the leading institutes in its field. IBS includes faculty from 10 University departments and has doubled its grants in effect within the last ten years from $20 million to over $40 million. The Institute of Behavioral Science does research on a significant number of important societal issues, including landmark work on natural hazards, the study and prevention of violence, teenage behaviors impacting health, and issues related to aging populations. IBS is also involved in international work, such as research on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa. The Institute is currently housed in eight small sub-standard residential style buildings within the Grandview terrace area and two floors of a leased office building in down town Boulder. This project will construct a new facility to consolidate the offices of the Institute of Behavioral Sciences (IBS) at a site at the east intersection of 15th Street and Grandview Avenue.
