EVEN Networking Event 2017The second Environmental Engineering and Water resources Networking Event was held February 9th 2017 at the DLC on CU campus: 11 companies and 115 students attended.

A special thank you to Prof. Christopher Corwin for organizing the Event and to all the student volunteers that helped during that day.

Who could better describe this success than a student? Please find below EVEN student Tasie Cooperman's experience:

Tasie Cooperman"The EVEN networking event is amazing, it's just what we need as environmental engineering students. At other career fairs, it is challenging to speak with one or two companies that incorporate environmental engineers into their business, but the professionals attending were there specifically to meet us. It was also easy for me to connect with people at this networking event based on common interests, knowing we already have a similar career path. For example, I met an engineer at Tetra Tech that is also a fundraising chair for Water For People, and she invited me to volunteer at an upcoming fundraiser.

I really appreciate how it was a "Networking Event", and not specifically a career fair. Networking is so important when entering into an industry, and continues after you've received your first job. At this networking event at least eight people were CU alumni, many of which still value the opinions of their former classmates and current peers. Many engineers were willing help introduce me to new people, expanding my network to include their own."

Tasie Cooperman is a senior in Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis in water treatment. Tasie is looking forward to graduating in Spring 2017. She is especially passionate about following a career path that offers an opportunity to serve her neighbor, and attend CU football games.
