Engineering Career Services is the bridge between academics and the world of work. We are allies — starting your first year — in your personal growth and career development. We will work with you to help you discover your interests and strengths; facilitate connections with quality employers and professional experiences; and develop effective strategies for launching your engineering career.

We help with developing effective application materials, i.e. resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles; internship and job search; preparing for interviews; deciding between multiple offers; negotiating salary; and identifying references.

Hotspots: 15-minute drop-in meetings across campus for resume reviews and answers to quick questions about your career development

            Mondays: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Biotechnology Building

            Tuesdays-Thursdays: 1-3 p.m., Engineering Center Lobby

            Fridays: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Idea Forge 

CareerLabs: Don’t want to wait for an individual appointment but need help with your internship/job application materials? CareerLabs are hands-on, weekly labs where you can work on your job search, LinkedIn profiles, resumes, cover letters, etc. A career advisor will be available to provide on-the-spot help and feedback. Join at any time!

            4 p.m. Thursdays, ECST 128-ABC (ECS Office)

Individual Appointments/Drop-ins: Make 30- to 60-minute appointments through CareerBuffs or by calling (303) 492-6541. Appointments can be about major or career exploration, resumes and cover letters, internships and job search strategies, mock interviews, and more. Appointments are held in either the Center for Community or Engineering Center Career Services locations. Drop-ins will be from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Engineering Career Services, ECST 128, as well as 1:30-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the centralized office, located in Suite N352 in the Center for Community.

Engineering Buff Talks: Executives and alumni will speak about their careers and provide advice on steps to take to jump start your professional development.

Gemmill Library Learner’s Lunch: Job & Internship Search, 12-1 p.m., Feb. 18

This presentation will cover job and internship search strategies for engineering students across all majors. All students welcome to attend.

 

How to Network at Campus Career Events, 5-6:30 p.m., April 4, ECCR 155

This workshop is designed for engineering students who want to hone their communication skills and receive tips on how to present themselves professionally at career fairs and employer events.
