Tyler Kohler is a PhD student in the Environmental Studies program and is primarily interested in the links between algal community structure and biogeochemical cycles, and how these relationships may apply to broader freshwater ecosystem structure and function. Currently, he is investigating temporal, spatial, and physical controls on microbial mats in the Dry Valleys of Antarctica. Tyler holds a BS in Biology from Kansas State University and a MS in Natural Resources from the University of Nebraska.
