Dr. Klees is an environmental engineer, recently retired from the World Bank, whose experience as focused on the global environment and water agendas, with emphasis on biodiversity conservation, water supply and sanitation, water resource management, and environmental policy. Using multi-disciplinary approaches, Dr. Klees has designed, managed and evaluated cross-sectoral investment and global commons projects in environment and water financed by bi-lateral agencies, international development banks, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). She has participated in international policy dialogue, impact analysis, and strategic planning for the environment and water sectors on a global level, as well as with local and national governments, non-governmental organizations, and international agencies. Dr. Klees' experience is geographically extensive covering assignments and long term overseas postings throughout the world. Her international development engineering career is enhanced by a previous career in community development.
