Julie Huang is a Masters student in the Environmental Studies program and will be spending 2014-15 in the Peace Corps. She is interested in a wide array of topics ranging from the distortions of social power on infrastructure projects to the internal politics of China's leadership and its effects on China's climate and energy policy. She is currently doing research on the impacts of carbon on land management decisions in the American Southwest. Julie received a B.A. in Public Policy and a B.S. in Geophysical Sciences from The University of Chicago. She wrote her B.A. thesis on stormwater management in the city of Chicago, looking specifically at the long, constipated history of the Deep Tunnel Project. She has always found it awkward to write about herself in the third person.
