How to Apply?

The 2016-2017 CU-Boulder Scholarship Application will open Monday, November 16, 2015.

The CU-Boulder Scholarship application is available every year from November to March through MyCUBoulder for prospective freshmen & transfer students and MyCUInfo for continuing undergraduate & graduate students.

The general application requires completing a resume and general essay. Additionally, most of the program specific scholarships may require writing a special essay, submitting recommendation letters, providing examples of studio projects, and/or documenting eligibility. Any scholarship that has financial need as criteria for eligibility also requires a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application requirements for each scholarship vary and are available in the portal or the CU-Boulder Scholarship Database.

To complete the application, follow these tips:

  • Complete the FAFSA by March 1, 2016.
  • Submit all application materials by February 9, 2016.
  • Recommendation letters may be submitted by your recommenders online through the application.
  • Follow best practices for winning a scholarship

A scholarship committee evaluates submitted applications and selects recipients. Scholarships are highly competitive and award criteria may include academic merit, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership, or other requirements.
