John Lanterman, PLA, ASLA, is a Senior Instructor in the Program in Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a licensed landscape architect focusing on sustainable planning and design for small towns and neighborhoods. Lanterman brings 25 years of private consulting in urban design, planning, and landscape architecture to ENVD.

John is active in the professional design community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Congress for the New Urbanism Colorado Chapter. He is a Board Member for the Center for Community Engagement, Design, and Research (CEDAR) at CU Boulder. John heads the internship program for ENVD, and is the faculty sponsor for The Student Association of Landscape Architects. In 2013, AIA Colorado North awarded Lanterman Instructor of the Year, Honorable Mention.

Lanterman directs Mountain Lab, an organization partnering with the University to provide sustainable design, planning, and research for mountain towns in the Rocky Mountain region.
