Jeffrey Sczechowski

Jeffrey Sczechowski joined the College of Engineering and Applied Science as Coordinator for Research Opportunities in 2008.  He was promoted to the position of Assistant Dean for Research Opportunities in 2011. His responsibilities include identifying and disseminating multidisciplinary research opportunities for the college faculty, building collaborative research teams for large proposals, facilitating contact between business and industry representatives with college faculty, and assisting with the strategic development of the college’s research portfolio.

He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at CU-Boulder in 1985 and his MS in chemical engineering in 1988 at North Carolina State University. He returned to CU-Boulder and received his PhD in chemical engineering in 1994. Prior to joining the Dean’s Office, Sczechowski was a program manager for STMicroelectronics, assigned to the Engineering Research Center for Environmentally Benign Semiconductor Manufacturing at the University of Arizona, where he was also appointed as a visiting research scholar. 

From 1999 to 2002, he worked for STMicroelectronics in the design and start-up of its first 300 mm silicon wafer fabrication facility at the company's central research and development site in Crolles, France. Before working for STMicroelectronics, he was an associate professor of environmental engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.  He is also a registered professional engineer in California.
