  • Classrooms — To schedule a classroom for a one-time meeting or event, contact Central Classroom Scheduling at 492-6619.
  • Outdoor Events — To schedule an outdoor event, contact Non-Academic Scheduling at 492-8803. Note that the approval process requires 14-day advance notice.
  • Policy on the Use of University Facilities
  • Lactation Room for New Mothers (DLC 201) — This room, available to engineering faculty, staff, and students, has a desk and chair, a microwave, and supplies such as paper towels, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes. Reporting Building Problems

Any potentially life-threatening situation, including natural gas odor or chemical spill of any kind should be reported immediately by calling 911 and pulling the closest alarm to evacuate the building.

The response protocol for 911 will notify the appropriate campus people and dispatch the appropriate resources (fire, police, EMTs). If you were on the scene when the issue happened, please go to the area where the fire/police response team meets (should be the parking area between ITLL and ECCE/ECSL).  Identify yourself to JoAnn Zelasko; if she is not on-site, identify yourself to either the fire or police.

When an alarm sounds: Leave the building via the closest available exit, taking your personal belongings.  The Engineering Center is alarmed by building.  If an alarm is not sounding in the area you are in, you may remain in that area, but you may not enter an area where an alarm is sounding.

Maintenance Requests

To report a non-emergency facility problem in the Engineering Center, such as faulty heating, cooling, water or electrical power; room leaks, or sprinkler system flooding, please contact the Engineering Front Desk at 303-492-5071. For out-of-hours issues that need immediate attention (ex., a water leak), call the Facilities Management Service Desk at 492-5522.

Burned out lights can be reported through the Facilities Management website.

If the issue is in a lab, contact the lab manager. The lab manager will determine if the problem needs to be addressed by the department/center or if it is an infrastructure problem to be reported to Facilities Management.

If you have a recurring issue, please have all the service order information about previous reports of the issue.  Report recurring issues to the Engineering Front Desk, which will work with Facilities Management to address the issue.

Safety Coordinators

Safety concerns should be reported to the appropriate Safety Coordinator as listed on the second page of this document: Safety Coordinator and Emergency Contact Responsibilities
