The following templates are provided as Microsoft Word documents (.doc), allowing you to save to your computer and customize as needed:
Adjoint - Normally for people affiliated with a local organization such as NCAR or NIST who will be teaching or supervising academic programs. Qualifications should be similar to those of regular faculty at the appropriate rank (assistant professor adjoint, etc.). Always without compensation.
Adjunct - Used for retired faculty and for those who have held positions at other comparable institutions. People who have not previously held a professorial rank may be given the title Assistant Professor Adjunct if their qualifications warrant the title. May or may not be paid.
Assistant - Temporary (less than 6 months), part-time (less than 50%) employees who assist in research, teaching, and/or service for an academic unit and receive less than $10,000 in total compensation.
Attendant Rank - Given to people with administrative or service duties who hold other, salaried positions at the University (Associate Professor, for example). No compensation is paid, other than the salary associated with the regular appointment.
