Transfer Students

Welcome! We are pleased that you are considering transferring to the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU-Boulder.

You can find information here about our admissions criteria and guidelines for the transfer of credit from another school.

Intra-University Transfer (IUT)

Students wishing to switch in to the College of Engineering and Applied Science from another college/school on the Boulder campus should complete an Intra-University Transfer (IUT) application. 

With appropriate course selection and satisfactory academic performance during your first few semesters, it is possible to stay on track with the engineering curriculum and graduate in a timely manner. Students who have been admitted to the College of Arts & Sciences, but want to transfer to engineering have a clear path to success through the Pre-Engineering Program.

Transfer from another University or Institution

If you are considering transferring from another public institution in Colorado (either a community college or a 4-year institution), you will want to look over the Statewide Engineering Articulation Agreement, the Guaranteed Admission Criteria for Colorado Transfers, and the UCB Course Matrix.

If you are planning a transfer from the CU-Denver or CU-Colorado Springs campus, you may wish to refer to the course-by-course equivalency table published in the college section of the University Catalog.
