The following information is a guideline for students seeking to earn an International Engineering Certificate in French.

French Requirements (5 courses)
French Language (3 courses)
French Culture/Literature (2 courses)
· Select two courses in French literature or culture, taught in French, from the following list: FREN 3020 French Phonetics through Musical Performance, FREN 3100 Introduction to Critical Reading and Writing in French Literature, FREN 3110 Main Currents of French Literature I, FREN 3120 Main Currents of French Literature II, FREN 3500 French Current Events, FREN 3600 Business French I, FREN 3700 French-American Cultural Differences, or other options as approved. Prerequisites may be adjusted with instructor consent;
Study Abroad: French credit earned on a CU-approved study abroad program may be accepted for language or culture credit with prior approval. For more information, please visit the CU Study Abroad Programs Office.
Transfer credit: A maximum of 9 transfer credits or 6 AP credits may be applied toward certificate requirements.
