CU Engineering GOLD Board Mission Statement
“... To enhance the relationship between the CU College of Engineering and Applied Science and its recent graduates in a way that encourages alumni to maintain their close connections with the college and university at large, while simultaneously adding value to the reputation and contributions of the college and furthering its mission and vision.”

The CU Engineering Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLD) Board seeks to unite recent alumni with one another and with the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The GOLD Board hosts social events and organizes volunteer opportunities so recent alumni can get involved with the university, connect with one another, and have fun along the way. Past events include happy hours, sporting events, family events, and community and engineering outreach. The GOLD Board also recognizes the achievements of recent graduates through the CU Engineering Recent Alumni Award and other university honors. The GOLD Board also seeks to build meaningful relationships between alumni and current students.

Past 2014-2015 GOLD Events

August 23rd, 2015 | Engineering GOLD Pool Party
Graduating seniors, graduate students, the GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) Board, and fellow alumni joined at the CU Boulder Recreational Center outdoor buffalo pool for a night of music, food from the Sink, Chip the CU-Boulder Mascot, and CU giveaways. 

June 7th, 2015 | GOLD Alumni Event at Top Golf - Houston
CU engineering alumni gathered with Dean Rob Davis and Assistant Dean JoAnn Zelasko from the College of Engineering and Applied Science for an afternoon at Topgolf - Houston. They enjoyed an All-American buffet, CU giveaways, golf tips, and an update on the latest developments at the college from Dean Rob Davis.

May 1st, 2015 | Annual Senior Breakfast
Our fourth annual graduating senior/grad student breakfast, held in the Engineering Center lobby and hosted by our GOLD board, was a great success. Thanks to all the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who joined us for this CU tradition, and a big congrats to our newest CU Engineering grads.

April 25th, 2015 | GOLD Engineering Alumni Night at the Rockies
The GOLD Board, hosted free food, giveaways and drink specials for alumni at the Colorado Rockies vs. the San Francisco Giants Game. 

Lockheed Tour for Recent Alumni
September 22nd, 2014 | Lockheed Martin Tour 
Noon to 5 p.m. at Lockheed Martin in south Denver
Reserve your spot for this behind-the-scenes tour of south Denver's Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company! The GOLD Board is teaming up with Lockheed Martin to provide a detailed view into the manufacturing of weather (GOES-R), navigation (GPS III) and interplanetary spacecrafts. Guests have the option of taking a complimentary chartered bus between CU-Boulder and Lockheed's south Denver site or providing their own transportation. Note: Space is limited and restricted to U.S. citizens only.    

August 24th, 2014  Back-to-School Pool Party for CU Engineering Seniors
Congratulations to our future engineering alumni! The GOLD Board hosted a celebration at the new buffalo-shaped outdoor pool and patio at the CU Rec Center the night before the fall semester to highlight this milestone, wish them luck on their academic endeavors and introduce them to the importance of being an active and involved young alumnus. 

August 23rd, 2014  CU Alumni Night at the Rockies
In conjunction with the CU-Boulder Alumni Association, the GOLD Board invited recent graduates to the Blake Street Tavern for free food, CU giveaways and drinks specials before watching the Colorado Rockies defeated the Miami Marlins at Coors Field. The board also offered special ticket pricing just for engineering young alumni!

May 2nd, 2014 Graduating Students Breakfast
Congratulations to the Class of 2014! The GOLD Board sponsored a fun photo booth for CU Engineering graduates at a special breakfast the morning of the last day of spring semester classes in the lobby of the Engineering Building at CU-Boulder. Welcome to the newest members of our alumni family!

March 23rd, 2014 Denver Nuggets Game
The GOLD Board and 2014 Distinguished Senior award winners from the college's departments and programs watched the Nuggets win over the Washington Wizards at the Pepsi Center in Denver in an exclusive suite just for the engineering grads of the last decade. 

February 22nd, 2014 Family Play Day at Monkey Bizness
Engineers of all ages had family fun at Monkey Bizness in Centennial, Colo., with jumping ,bouncing, and, of course, snacks and balloons!
