Volunteer Opportunities

Nan Joesten is a partner at Farella Braun & Martel, a law firm where she specializes in intellectual property and business litigation. She has been a loyal donor to the college since she graduated in 1982 with a BS in chemical engineering, supporting the Dean’s Fund and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE), and along with her husband, naming the college in her estate plans.

But that’s not all. As a member of the dean’s Engineering Advisory Council, she serves on the Resource Development Committee to help raise funding for the college. Nan also chairs a fundraising committee for the ChBE department to support its future move to the new biotechnology building.

Nan’s impact on the college is clear as she rallies others to the cause and leads by example, motivating others with her enthusiasm and commitment. Volunteers like Nan are essential to assist the college’s leadership in meeting its goals for fundraising and other support.

Experienced engineers and leaders from all walks of life can be a valuable resource to the college. Students benefit from direct interaction with working engineers, while the college leadership also relies on a diverse selection of leaders for advice and counsel.
