Students Create 'Toolbox' to Support Boulder Valley Special Education Teachers, continued

Now, DePaula and Caley are developing a web-based retrieval system, which will allow teachers to query the system for what they need, while also creating a supportive community for learning and shar-ing information. To do that, the researchers are mapping the way teachers look for information and trying to bridge that with what software developers can provide.

"We're focusing not just on the technology, but on supporting the community of teachers," says DePaula.

Although he and Caley are learning a lot about the nature of special education through the project, their goal is for teachers to start learning from one another as they begin to use the toolbox, share their experiences, and ultimately add new activities and applications.
