Six Receive Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award

Four alumni, one professor emeritus, and a friend of the College of Engineering and Applied Science received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award at the 36th annual Engineering Awards Banquet on April 6.

Awards were presented in the categories of Government Service, Industry and Commerce, Private Practice, and Research and Invention, along with two Special awards for non-alumni who have provided outstanding service to the college. The awards were presented by engineering Dean Ross B. Corotis. More

Telecommunication Expert Dale Hatfield Named Engineer of Distinction

A telecommunications expert who has served as an advisor to governments and corporations around the world, Dale Hatfield has had a significant impact on the development of telecommunications policy and the changes that have occurred in the industry as it has moved from a regulated monopoly to a competitive market.

CU-Boulder is fortunate to have him serve as interim director of the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program, where he has been a major contributor since 1982, bringing first-hand knowledge of telecommunications policy developments to hundreds of students. More
