The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has opened a new faculty candidate search.
The Department is seeking to hire exceptional candidates as assistant professors, with higher levels also considered. The Department currently has 24 full-time faculty (two joint with Chemistry), 125 graduate students, 35 postdoctoral fellows, and 425 undergraduates. The faculty are dedicated to both research and education, and the Department is characterized by collaboration involving students, faculty, and other departments. For example, nearly 100 undergraduate students participated in faculty-directed research in this past year. Several measures of excellence include:

Wilhelm, Thomas Baron, Excellence in Industrial Gases Technology, Process Development Research, C.M.A. Stine and Gerhold Awards. Additionally, faculty have been selected for the AAPS Wurster Research Award in Pharmaceutics, the John M. Prausnitz Award in Applied Chemical Thermodynamics, the Department of Energy Early Career Research Award, two Society for Biomaterials Clemson Awards, three ASEE Lectureship Awards, and the NSF Waterman Award. One faculty was recently elected to both the National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies.
