Amy Javernick-Will is an associate professor and Nicholas R. and Nancy D. Petry Professor of construction engineering and management in the Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering. Prior to entering academia, Javernick-Will worked for over six years in the construction and real estate development industry as a design-build project manager. Javernick-Will’s research group seeks to improve lives through socially sustainable infrastructure. She conducts research on disaster recovery and resiliency planning; global organizational management and knowledge management; sustainable WASH systems; and engineering education. Javernick-Will is an associate editor of Construction Management and Economics, associate director for graduate education and research at the Mortenson Center for Engineering in Developing Communities, and a committee member for the National Academy of Engineering panel on understanding the engineering education to workforce continuum.
