Back to Boulder - Homecoming Weekend

Not only is Evan the Alumni Association's Annual Chawla Award winner this year, but he is also a past College of Engineering and Applied Science Recent Alumni Award winner, and holds four degrees from CU (Jour, Aero, MAero’06, PhD’09). Evan is recognized internationally for his extensive work and research in the fields of aerospace engineering and sustainable development. The presentation will be in the Idea Forge (Fleming Building) and is open and free to the public.
Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony

This year, the College of Engineering and Applied Science will celebrate three of its own graduates at the Annual Alumni Awards ceremony: Pamela Drew (Math, MS CompSci '87, PhD '91), Nan Joesten (ChemEng '82), and Evan Thomas (Aero, Jour, MAero '06, PhD '09). The evening will feature a pre-reception with wine and plated appetizers followed by the ceremony in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the UMC. 50 Year and Golden Anniversary Club Reunion

If you’re a member of the Class of 1965 or earlier, we’ve got special events just for you! Our weekend together begins with a reunion breakfast, complete with comments from class leaders and Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano. Lab Tour with Dr. WeimerSaturday, October 17 at 10:00 amProfessor Alan Weimer (MS '78, PHD '80) is one of CU's rockstar faculty members and has won numerous awards for his research, including the Excellence in Bio-Derived Technology Commercialization Award and the AICHe Excellence in Process Development Research Award. Graduating seniors, graduate students, the GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) Board, and fellow alumni came together at the CU Boulder Recreational Center outdoor buffalo pool for a night of music, food from the Sink, Chip the CU-Boulder Mascot, and CU giveaways.
June 7, 2015 | GOLD Alumni Event at Top Golf - Houston
CU engineering alumni gathereds with Dean Rob Davis and Assistant Dean JoAnn Zelasko from the College of Engineering and Applied Science for an afternoon at Topgolf - Houston. They enjoyed an All-American buffet, CU giveaways, golf tips, and an update on the latest developments at the college from Dean Rob Davis.

Our fourth annual graduating senior/grad student breakfast, held in the Engineering Center lobby and hosted by our GOLD board, was a great success. Thanks to all the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who joined us for this CU tradition, and a big congrats to our newest CU Engineering grads.

Nearly 40 alumni, family and friends joined us for food and fun in the Discovery Learning Center before the sold-out game.

Hosted by Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering. Paul Goodrum, professor of construction engineering and management, discussed his research during a free breakfast at MWH Construction in Broomfield. The audience heard about trends in craft labor availability, including the likelihood of a labor "cliff" that would impact cost, schedule, safety and quality of construction projects.
October 25, 2014 | Back to Boulder Homecoming Weekend: Show and Tell
Alumni and guests learned about unmanned aerial vehicles, renewable energy harvesting, 3-D books and more through hands-on demonstrations by faculty and students. Attendees also got a "sneak peek" inside the new Idea Forge
, housed in the former Fleming Law Building.

The GOLD Board, in conjunction with the CU-Boulder Alumni Association, hosted food, giveaways and drink specials for alumni at the Blake Street Tavern before the Colorado Rockies defeated the Marlins at Coors Field.

What a beautiful day at North Boulder Park for the annual college picnic. Dean Robert H. Davis gave a brief college update after CU Engineering alumni and friends enjoyed a hearty summer meal of delicious BBQ and ice cream.

Hosted by Dana Shinn (MechEngr '81), Stephen Dunn (ArchEngr '69) and Bruce Mathers (ChemEngr '82). CU Engineering alumni met and mingled at the beautiful San Diego Yacht Club and heard a brief presentation by guest speaker Ryon Warren, chief engineer at Reichel-Pugh Yacht Design.

Kathy Tobey (ChemEngr'84, MS EngrMgmt'94), VP and GM of Special Programs, and Aerospace Engineering Department Chair Penny Axelrad also spoke.

Alumni, incoming CU engineering students and their families met and mingled over a complimentary brunch held at the beautiful Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA.
