The college offers a variety of tours and visit programs for students and their parents. You will have the opportunity to speak directly with faculty, staff, and students, and learn more about the CU-Boulder programs of interest to you.
Engineering Center Daily Tours
Guided tours of the Engineering Center are available Monday through Friday starting at 12:15 p.m. Tours begin in the lobby of the Engineering Center near the revolving doors, and interested students and parents should meet in the Engineering Lobby five minutes before the start of the tour. Reservations are not required; however, please note that during the spring/summer we will not offer tours during finals week and tours will not resume until June 4. Tours also will not be offered July 4 or other weekday campus holidays. At any time, please feel free to go on a self-guided tour using our tour brochure.
Daily Information Sessions and Campus Tours
You may also want to participate in the Office of Admissions' daily information sessions and student-led walking tours. These sessions are available Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and on most Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., except on holidays and during campus closures.
All-Day Visit Programs
CU-Boulder offers a variety of all-day visit programs for those who really want to get to know our campus community. These include the CU-Boulder Engineering Sampler, Be a CU Student for a Day, and programs designed for students who are underrepresented in the engineering fields. See the Undergraduate Admissions website for dates and details.
Engineering Center Complex: If you are unable to attend one of the above tours or visit programs, you can take a self-guided tour whenever the Engineering Center is open (Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.). Use our self-guided tour brochure (also available in the Engineering Lobby) as your guide as you make a giant loop through the Engineering Center. The tour includes facilities for each department along with the BOLD Center, Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory, and the Discovery Learning Center.
Integrated Teaching & Learning Laboratory: This award-winning experiential learning facility includes interactive exhibits through which people of all ages can learn about different aspects of engineering, as well as views into the building's structural and operating systems through its innovative "inside-out" design. Many of the school's First Year Engineering Projects are created in the ITL Laboratory and demonstrated to the community at an Engineering Design Expo at the end of each semester. The ITL Laboratory is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Discovery Learning Center: This high-tech addition to the Engineering Center supports the valuable integration of undergraduate students into the college's research mission. The mission of this sister facility to the ITL Laboratory is accomplished by guiding student learning through an inquiry-based approach that complements the academic curriculum. The DLC is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
