AISES

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is national, nonprofit organization which nurtures building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional Native values.  AISES is a nationwide organization with a student chapter at the University of Colorado.  There are many opportunities for student members of AISES, including scholarships, chapter activities, conferences and summer work experience programs.  While the AISES chapter at CU is active, they do not have a web site.  They invite you to visit their national web site for information about how to get involved.

MAES/SHPE

The Mexican American Engineering Society and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers work to advance people of Hispanic heritage in scientific and engineering careers.  The CU chapters of MAES and SHPE promote the organizations' general goal of recruiting, retaining, and graduating Hispanics, and contributing to their advancement in their professional lives.  The SHPE/MAES chapters at CU-Boulder may be reached at (303) 492-4948, or contact Bob Maciel in the MEP office for more information.
