Participation Requirements

New Freshman and New Transfer ProgramsYou
must enroll in GEEN 1510 & 1520: Self-Management and Leadership
Principles I and II. Note:
The Fall 2001 GEEN 1510 class will meet on Tuesdays from 2:00 -
4:45 pm in ECCR 1B55. GEEN
1510 is required of all freshmen and new transfer students.
You may register for GEEN 1510 with the following call number: 06380,
which is not listed in the Registration Handbook.
GEEN 1520 will meet during the Spring 2002 semester. You will receive 2 hours credit for 1510 and 1 hour credit
for 1520. Academic Excellence Workshops (AEW’s) in Calculus I and II (APPM 1350 and 1360); Chemistry (CHEM 1211); and Physics I (PHYS 1110) in your freshman year, and other AEW’s in your sophomore and junior years as each particular major dictates. Your participation in the AEW’s is mandatory. Clustering
in Calculus I and II (APPM 1350 and 1360); Chemistry (CHEM 1211); and
Physics I and II (PHYS 1110 and 1120). More information is

Supplemental
activities of the MEP 1) Multicultural Career Fair (Annually in
September) 2) Annual Awards Banquet (Annually in April) 3)
MEP Saturday Summit Leadership Retreat (2nd or 3rd
weekend in September) 4)
Seek professional development and networking within the student
organizations affiliated with the MEP.
This includes but is not limited to participation in meetings,
service projects and other activities sponsored by 6)
Attend tutoring sessions and academic performance reviews as
necessary. 7) Contribute and assist others in their learning experience (i.e., tutoring, mentoring, helping facilitate AEW sessions, etc.).
