Curricula

The Environmental Engineering Program currently offers four degree options. All of the curriculum information is contained in the Environmental Engineering (EVEN) Program Guidelines.

  • Environmental Engineering (EVEN) B.S. Degree (4 Years)
The four-year Environmental Engineering (EVEN) B.S. degree is the standard curriculum offered by the program. When you complete this curriculum, you will be granted a "Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering" degree.

  • Environmental Engineering B.S./Civil Engineering M.S. Concurrent Degrees
    (5 Years)
To encourage our strongest students to continue on at the University of Colorado for a Master of Science degree, we offer a concurrent B.S./M.S. degrees curriculum that requires an expected 5 years of course work. Students following this option will obtain an B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering and an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering (in their graduate Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Options).

The following two dual B.S. degree curricula are available only to students beginning in academic year 2005-2006 or earlier.

  • Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering (EVEN/CHEN) Dual B.S. Degrees (4 1/2 Years)
This dual B.S. degree allows EVEN students to earn two B.S. degrees, the EVEN and the CHEN (Chemical and Biological Engineering).

  • Environmental Engineering/Civil Engineering (EVEN/CVEN) Dual B.S. Degrees
    (4 1/2 Years)
This dual degrees allows EVEN students to earn two B.S. degrees, the EVEN and the CVEN (Civil Engineering).

For students beginning in academic year 2006-2007 or later, to earn 2 BS degrees the regular College rules governing dual degrees applies. Thus, students must fulfill normal degree requirements for both BS programs at a minimum of 158 total credits. For more information on Civil Engineering see: CVEN Advising Guide
