Physics 2000 aims to make physics more accessible to people of all ages by creating an interactive web site that enables users to progress from concrete to abstract ideas. The site consists of a series of interactive "Java applets", or simulations which allow the user to carry out virtual experiments. These applets are embedded in short hypertext explanations that are presented as dialog among cartoon characters.
