Every new scholarship made available to our students brings this goal closer to reality.
* Virginia and Orville Ashenfelter Native American Scholarship - James L. Patterson (EE '60) established this scholarship for Native American students. He named the award after his aunt and uncle, Virginia and Orville Ashenfelter.
* Cynthia and Steve Chapra Scholarship - Steve Chapra, a professor in the Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Department, has begun building the Cynthia and Steve Chapra Scholarship Endowment. Steve is wisely capitalizing on a faculty matching gift program established by former Dean Richard Seebass.
* Ralph M. Clark Scholarship - Ralph Clark (ChE '44) wanted to help engineering during his lifetime, so rather than leave a large bequest in his will, he chose to establish the Clark Scholarship now.
* John W. Clough Memorial Scholarship - David Clough, a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department, established the John W. Clough Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of his father. The Clough Scholarship will provide an annual award to a single parent student or a non-traditional student. Other than good academic standing, academic performance will not be a criterion; however, financial need will be considered.
* Fentress, Bradburn and Associates Scholarship - This scholarship was established by C.W. Fentress J.H. Bradburn and Associates for deserving junior or senior architectural engineering students with an interest in environmental engineering.
* Don Fullerton Scholarship - Don Fullerton (CE '53), a retired Martin Marietta employee, established this scholarship to benefit deserving engineering students who have demonstrated an interest in community service. It is funded with current annual gifts and will be enhanced in the future with the proceeds of a life insurance policy.
* Isbill Associates Scholarship - This scholarship is the third established by Greg Isbill (CE '51), president of Isbill Associates. It is awarded to civil engineering students with a high probability of professional success based on criteria other than academic performance.
* Milwaukee Foundation's Wilbur & Mildred Petri Scholarship -This scholarship is awarded in honor of Wilbur Petri (ME '32) by the Petri trust, administered by the Milwaukee Foundation. It is awarded to mechanical engineering students with preference given to students from the greater Milwaukee area or Wisconsin.
* Joseph Yale Parce Memorial Scholarship - Frank Y. Parce and David M. Parce established this scholarship in memory of their father. Joseph Yale Parce (ME '25) was an outstanding engineer, leader, and innovator in his field and was always supportive to family, friends, and those in need.
* Richard Seebass Honorary Scholarship - In honor of Dick Seebass' 13 years as dean, Lanny Pinchuk and other alumni, faculty, and friends have established the Richard Seebass Honorary Scholarship, an endowed scholarship for undergraduate engineering students. The dollar goal for this scholarship was $100,000, which has already been exceeded!
* James and Tamara Sherman Scholarship - Jim Sherman, director of Student Services, began building the James and Tamara Sherman Scholarship through payroll deductions. Through his work with students and as chair of the Committee on Engineering Scholarships, Jim became aware of the high level of unmet need and increasing amount of debt students incur and wanted to help by providing additional aid.
* Syntex Chemicals, Inc., Scholarship - Syntex Chemicals sponsors four scholarships for engineering students: recipients include a chemical engineering major, a minority student, a female student, and a non-traditional student.
* Richard H. Tatlow III Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was created by family members and friends in memory of Richard H. Tatlow III (CE '27). Mr. Tatlow was a designer of retail and commercial complexes for major enterprises and directed industrial facilities during World War II. He served as president of the American Society for Civil Engineers.
