Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program

Engineering Management Courses Gain in Popularity as Technical Electives, continued

In calendar year 1999, 50 undergraduate students and 19 graduate students enrolled in engineering management courses, representing an all-time high in non-degree students. An increase in the number of MBA students also has been observed due to the cross-listing of several program courses by the College of Business and Administration. At the same time, enrollment in the Masters of Engineering degree program continued at about 50 students in 1999.

The interest by these non-degree students and the growing popularity of more specialized graduate tracks for the Program graduate students have significantly increased the overall demand for program courses. Introduction to Engineering Management (EMEN 5010) is now being taught both fall and spring semesters to accommodate the demand for entry into the graduate program.

Program faculty members are exploring the use of expanded web course materials and learning tools to fully serve both local and distance education students. In addition, a search is under way for another full-time faculty member, and more adjunct faculty members are being identified and qualified to teach. www.colorado.edu/EngMgmtProg
