FEEDBACK 09/25/03

1.      Professor writes too small and not neat enough
- it’s not that bad – better than most other professors
- sometimes.

2.      If it’s not shown in class, I am not going to look at web page either. Any information on web page not shown in class is useless.
- I have gone to a few of the sites, but not all of them.

3.      Not enough homework. I must be forced to use and apply the material, or I don’t learn anything.
If you assign more, can you make them shorter.

Instructor Impovements Necessary:

1.      Need more detail in how to apply hardware.

2.      Keeping web page up to date helps – must keep web pages updated.

3.      Would like some more overall design problems.

4.      Need to better define what the exact goals of this course are, what we should know, when we are done.

5.      It would be nice if the professors passed show-and-tell items around the classroom for us to play with and get a better look at.

6.      Need a bigger picture, like where all this stuff fits in.

7.      Need more sources of information similar to material discussed in class.

CATECS Improvements Necessary:

1.      Tell the camera guys to keep the camera on the desktop more so thete is tiem to get all the info.

2.      Need longer camera times on the notes.

3.      TV screen is slightly blurry (not focused enough), therefore incredibly hard to read print from the computer screen. Maybe font should be slightly larger.

What I liked:

1.      I like sources (web pages) and descriptions of hardware to be used, and how it works.

2.      The example hardware is helpful

3.      The class so far is interesting and practical – I enjoy it.

4.      You go through a lot of math (Thermo) – please print out what will be important for homework and tests.

5.      I want to download the web page at end of semester as a reference.

6.      Maybe small assignments more often

7.      Hardware is fun. It makes it more interesting when you show it in class (maybe pass it around)

8.      Pictures are always good – hardware, your hardware in use, astronauts using your hardware.

9.      I prefer non-CATECS class if possible.

10. I like looking at all the hardware that you bring in.

11. The example problems are very helpful.

12. The hardware you bring to class as examples is very usefull in understanding the applications.
