University of Colorado Boulder Police are investigating an attempted sexual
assault that occurred last night on CU-Boulder's East Campus.

Police were called on the report at about 8 p.m. on Feb. 9. Preliminary reports
conveyed that an employee was at 3100 Marine St. at about 8 p.m. and was
locking doors on the east side of the building. After locking the doors, she
turned and was approached by a male unknown to her.

The male engaged in a short conversation with the employee. The employee
attempted to leave, and was grabbed by the male. The male shoved the employee
to the ground and attempted to remove her pants. The victim began kicking the
male, apparently causing some pain to him. He disengaged the victim, and she
was able to run away.

The male was described as a white male, unknown age or build. He was wearing a
"puffy" black coat, and an unknown colored hat, described as a beanie-type knit
hat.

Police were called shortly after the attack and searched the area. The male was
not located. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact CU Police
detectives at 303-492-8168.
