Join the members of Queer People of Color for an examination of the
historical and modern day sexual exotification of the African American, Latino/a,
Chicano/a and Native American Communities. Special guest speakers: Dr
Elisa Facio and Dr. Danika Medak-Saltzman of the ethnic studies department and
Prof. Tamara Williams Van Horn of the sociology department. Free Refreshments

HARVESTING THE CLOUDS: WOMEN AND EQUALITY IN BERBER MOROCCO
Village women in Berber Morocco walk hours daily to draw water. New
technology allows dense fog to be "harvested" in nets creating water. Dr. Jamila
Bargach and her non-profit Dar Si-Hmad for development, education, culture
are developing fog-harvesting facilities so Berber women can turn to education.
She will discuss the film TAGUT (''Fog'') describing conditions in the villages
and the desperate need for new sources of water. Dr. Bargach, is a Moroccan
cultural anthropologist.

"YOGA FOR SOMALIA" DONATIONS ONLY HOT YOGA CLASS, NOV. 17 AT 6 P.M.
Amnesty International and the Yoga Pod present a hot yoga donation class.
The current drought in Somalia has left over 11.5 million people in famine, in
need of emergency assistance. Come to the Yoga Pod, Thursday, Nov. 17 and 6
p.m. (1759 29th street). This is a free yoga class, but we suggest a $10 donation
that will go directly to Somalia's emergency assistance. This is a hot yoga class,
so please bring a towel and hydrate.

VET DAY PRE-GAME PARTY BEFORE THE CU-ARIZONA GAME
CU-Boulder's student veterans are hosting a Pre-game Party on the UMC
South Terrace prior to the Colorado-Arizona Game on Nov. 12. Local
veterans; active duty, guard and reserve personnel/families; and friends are
invited. The party features a live band, food/beverages, and door prizes. Start

TASTE OF AFRICA
The African Students' Association is hosting our ninth annual African night
featuring dance performances, bands including Selasee and Fafa Family, an
African fashion show and African prizes. There will be food from Ghana,
Nigeria, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda, Kenya, Morocco and the Democratic
Republic of Congo. This event is free and open to all. It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the

ASIAN BRAIN DRAIN: A DISCUSSION ON ASIAN IDENTITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Come join a panel of women on campus that will start a conversation on
what its like to be Asian identified and be a part of a higher education system.

PARTICIPATE IN A PAID PSYCHOLOGY STUDY
Seeking healthy individuals between 18 and 55 for laboratory and brain
imaging (fMRI) studies on pain/taste and emotion. Our studies use heat pain,
similar to holding a cup of hot coffee. Pain is always kept at a level that is
tolerable for you. For the taste study, we use bitter taste, similar to the
concentration found in tonic water. Participants receive $12 - $24 per
