HYDRAULIC FRACTURING: A LOOK INTO THE SCIENCE, LAW AND POLICY

The Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law and Policy will be presenting a lecture on hydraulic fracturing this Friday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom. The lecture will feature two presentations, one on
the science of hydraulic fracturing given by Mike Eberhard, Completion Engineering Manager with Anadarko, followed by a presentation by Michael Chiropolos, Lands Program Director for Western Resource Advocates, on the most recent developments in hydraulic fracturing law and policy.

DONATE YOUR WARM CLOTHING TO PINE RIDGE RESERVATION

Have some warm clothes you don't use? From Oct. 31-Nov. 4,
drop off your warm winter clothes (coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, etc.) at the Environmental Center (UMC 355) to go to Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Donations will be delivered by the non-profit Trees, Water, People.
Help spread the warmth as the season turns cold and help lower our carbon footprint by turning the thermostat down.

Program Council presents Trevor Hall, a reggae rock singer who has toured with Matisyahu, Stevie Nicks and Ziggy Marley. Hall will be joined on stage with Cas Haley, the runner-up on season two of America's Got Talent. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in Old Main on Friday, Oct. 28. LY XUN: ONE CLASSICAL POEM 30 YEARS APART (CAS EVENT)

November 4, 2 p.m., HUMN 150. A lecture by Prof. Eva Shan Chou, City University of New York, Baruch College. In 1903, when he was 21, Lu Xun wrote one of his most famous and patriotic classical poems. Yet this poem survives in his hand
only because he wrote it out again in 1931. Why 1931 and what did the poem mean to him 30 years later?
