BACKCOUNTRY CLUB INTRO MEETING
Attention all ski and snowboarding enthusiasts, the Backcountry Club at CU
will be holding an informational meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in HUMN 250 at
7 p.m. Whether you are an experienced backcountry skier/rider or not, come
learn about the club's hut trips, avalanche classes, day tours, gear
rentals and special events. Untracked turns await!

BATTLE OF THE BANDS IS COMING ON OCT. 14
Program Council's 8th Annual Battle of the Bands is ready to rock, jam
and wow the Glenn Miller Ballroom on Friday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.. It's free,
so come out to cheer on your favorite bands as a team of judges select one
out of 10 bands containing at least one CU student for the ultimate title and a
headlining spot in the best venue on campus-Club 156!

FREE ADVANCED SCREENING OF MISS REPRESENTATION IN OLD MAIN
Program Council and the Women's Resource Center will be presenting a free
showing of the documentary Miss Representation in Old Main on Oct. 12 at
8 p.m. This provocative film explores the view of women as presented by
the media. There are interviews from teenage girls to women like Condoleezza
Rice and Rosario Dawson, giving them all a chance to speak out about women's
potential and asks the audience the question of what we can do.

THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO CATCH IS THE FLU
Fall is the time for snow, staying warm, and catching footballs. One thing
you don't want to catch is the flu! Get your flu vaccine at Wardenburg Health
Center Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
Flu shots are $20 (free for students with Gold Health Insurance). Flu season is
here and you don't want to miss class or a weekend on the slopes!

LEARN YOUR STATUS AND HOW TO REDUE YOUR RISK OF HIV TRANSMISSION
Community Health offers free and confidential HIV testing. Getting tested
is the only way to know if you are infected. Testing is on Mondays from 11:30
a.m.- 1:30 p.m. in both UMC 411 and Wardenburg Health Center. It's also
offered on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in UMC 411 and Atlas 202.
It is on a walk in, first-come first-served basis. So come on by and get your
results in only 20 minutes!

COMING TO TERMS WITH ALL OF IT!"
There is often one story of the queer (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender)
experience teen suicides, hatred, bigotry and malice. What would
happen if there were more to that story? Join the Dennis Small Cultural Center

of a positive dialogue around sexuality.

SUJO JOHN - A 9/11 SURVIVOR'S STORY - THURSDAY, OCT. 13
Sujo immigrated to the States from India in 2001. His office for his first
job was on the 81st floor of Tower 1, World Trade Center. His pregnant wife
was working on the 71st floor of Tower 2. Come hear how their life and faith
were transformed through the events of that tragic day.
