NEW CLASSES AT THE STUDENT REC CENTER
New classes are just beginning in Latin Dance/Cuban Salsa Combo, Belly
Dance, Women's Self Defense, and Massage Techniques. Classes begin the week of
March 7; however, class sizes are limited ... don't wait, get registered now!
Registration is available "in person" at the Rec Center cashier, and is
open to CU students and to adult members of the Recreation Center only.

STARRING: ICONS AND ART OF THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE IN NORLIN LIBRARY
A visual introduction to the culture of the Roaring '20s in Harlem, New
York - in the Norlin 3rd floor west Triptych Gallery through the spring
semester. And while you're in Norlin, enjoy more exhibits in the east and
west lobbies, along with 10 art shows, from prints and paintings by
students to color etchings by Matthew Ritchie, one of Time Magazine's "100
Innovators for the New Millennium," on loan from the CU Art Museum.

SCREENING OF "THE POWER OF COMMUNITY" TODAY AT 6:30 PM!
Today, March 1 at 6:30 in Hellems 241, CU Going Local is screening the
inspirational documentary "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak
Oil". This fascinating and empowering film shows how communities pull together,
create solutions, and ultimately thrive during Cuba's oil crisis. This
documentary addresses critical issues concerning global peak oil and
inspires a vision of hope for the future.

RENT A BIKE FOR THE SEMESTER
Bicycles are now available for rental through the spring term for a $30 rental
fee (non-refundable) and a $100 deposit (refundable). You may renew a current
rental for only $10. The program has a wide selection of bicycle styles to

WEB DESIGN AWARDS - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Universal Design and Accessibility Committee (UDAC) is seeking nominations
for best Website Design among the CU campuses. The criteria are usability,
universal design & accessibility along with other features such as
adherence to Web standards. If you would like to nominate a website,
either one you use or have designed, please submit your nomination to
hkramer@colorado.edu by Friday, March 4. Winners and prizes will be
announced at the end of March.

"NATIVE AMERICAN SKIES" AT FISKE PLANETARIUM, MARCH 2
CU's Center of the American West is excited to host Astronomy Professor
John Stocke as he presents a multimedia show that will explore that
traditional star knowledge of three distinct Native American tribes - the
Lakota, the Pueblo, and the Navajo - using the Fiske star projector as a
time and space machine. Join us on Wednesday, March 2, at 7 pm in CU's
Fiske Planetarium - free and open to the public.
