    "THE TRUTH ABOUT SUICIDE": REAL STORIES ABOUT DEPRESSION IN COLLEGE

    Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, 1-2:30 p.m., UMC 425. 30 minute film presenting a
    recognizable picture of depression and other problems associated with
    suicide commonly experienced by college students. Discussion to follow with
    tips for intervening with friends. Cookies and beverages.

    CU Boulder Mental Health Resource Table for Suicide Prevention Awareness
    Week. Stop by our table outside the UMC across from the ATMs. Giveaways,

    Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, 3-4:30 p.m., UMC 245. You are in a unique position
    to help your friends who may be struggling. You can easily learn a way of
    intervening. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. Like CPR, QPR is
    an emergency response to someone in a suicide crisis. Early recognition of
    warning signs, early intervention and early professional assessment and care
    can save lives. Light refreshments.
