    CHINESE-ENGLISH CORNER

    Are you interested in improving your Chinese or English language skills?
    If so, come to the Chinese-English Corner. Practice speaking with native
    speakers of both English and Chinese, learn about an interesting
    culture, make new friends and have fun! Free snacks and drinks included.
    We meet in the UMC by Baby Doe's every Thursday night at 7pm. Hope to

    SENIOR CLASS COUNCIL OPEN MEETING!

    Senior Class Council will hold an open meeting Tuesday, March 18 in UMC
    325 from 6:30-7:30pm for students interested in learning more about our
    student group. Special topics to be discussed include recruitment for
    the 2009 Council and options for the senior class gift. Come find out
    about positions for next year or share your thoughts on the gift
    options. Free pizza! Come find us at Grad Fair to sign the Graduation
    Pledge and more!

    COME AND SEE KADDISFLY ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19 AT CLUB 156!

    Enjoy bands such as Incubus or Saosin? Then come and see Kaddisfly! They
    are an up-and-coming band that played on this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
    Their sound is a blend of alternative, pop, rock, and indie, which will
    make for a loud and passionate show for all. Alan Baird Project opens.
    This concert is on Wednesday, March 19 at 7pm in Club 156. For more

    PIMPS AND HOS: HOLLYWOOD, HIP HOP, AND THE WHITE HOUSE

    The CWA Athenaeum Lecture Series is proud to announce its last guest of
    the year before April's Conference: journalist Jessica Seigel. Jessica
    won much acclaim as NPR's "Countess of Culture," has a column in
    GLAMOUR, and has written for the NY Times, the LA Times, National
    Geographic, and other publications. She will be giving this talk Monday,
    March 17 in Humanities 250 at 7pm. It is free and open to the public.

    FREE CATERED STUDENT DINNER!

    Jessica Seigel will be speaking at another event on Tuesday, March 18 at
    7pm. She will be giving a talk at a free, catered student dinner hosted
    by the Conference on World Affairs Athenaeum. Jessica will cover her
    life in journalism, as well as her creative process for finding
    compelling stories. The event is only available to students, and you
    must RSVP with ath@colorado.edu for the location.

    CELEBRATION OF SOBRIETY MEETING

    The Center for Students in Recovery invites you to attend its weekly
    Twelve Step Open Meeting for students, faculty, and staff as well as the
    Boulder community on Mondays in Willard 231 from 5:30-6:30 pm. We
    provide support, recovery information, and celebrate milestones for
    those in recovery as well as family members or friends. Pizza will be

    SOBER BOWLING FRIDAYS

    Sober Bowling Night is every Friday night, from 6-8pm at The
    Connection at UMC. This is a substance free event for students who
    choose not to drink alcohol and/or use substances. The cost is $3.50 for
    each person which includes rental shoes. Just tell the attendant you're
    there for this event. Come and have fun substance free. Information:

    FIRST AID AND CPR CLASSES AT THE REC CENTER

    The Student Recreation Center has one more First Aid & CPR/AED class
    starting on Monday, March 17. Class meets on Monday & Wednesday nights
    (3/17 & 3/19)from 5:30-10pm. Final certification is with the American
    Red Cross; however, you must attend both nights in order to receive full
    certification. Registration is going on now at the Student Recreation
    Center.

    FIVE YEARS: TOO MUCH!

    Please join us at this week's events concerning the 5th anniversary of
    the U.S. occupation of Iraq. On Friday, March 14, Students for Peace and
    Justice present Goldhill, a free concert at Burnt Toast Restaurant (1235
    Pennsylvania-On the Hill). On Saturday, March 15 there will be a rally
    and march starting at 11am at the Main Branch, Boulder Public Library
    Lawn (Canyon between 9th and Broadway). Please wear black if you can.
